BAH! What a weekend.

Luck was just NOT on Mark Skaife's side yesterday, nor for HOLDEN. I could not believe what happened. Skaife SHOULD HAVE WON, but didn't due to a clutch problem in the opening SECONDS of the damn race, but then got taken out by a ROOKIE. WTF is with that! BAH.

If it had to be a Ford, at least Craig Lowndes was driving it.
Lowndes spoiled Holden's dream farewell for Peter Brock when he steered his Falcon to a dramatic and emotional Bathurst 1000 win on Sunday.
But even in a Ford, Brock's brother Phil said Lowndes' was the best name to be the first engraved on the inaugural Peter Brock Trophy.
"It's the best result," Phil said.
"Craig was very close to Peter and has been very emotional about his death."
Even though he moved from Holden five years ago, there was no hiding Lowndes' deep affection for his mentor, idol and friend.
He cried uncontrollably during the pre-race tributes for the Holden legend and wiped away tears when he and co-driver Jamie Whincup were presented with the trophy by Phil.
It was Lowndes' second Bathurst victory, 10 years after winning in a Holden Commodore as a 22-year-old under Brock's tutelage.
Brock trained the young Lowndes in his early days at Holden and remained a firm friend and supporter until his death in a rally crash last month.
But Lowndes wasn't the only one at Mount Panorama with an attachment to Brock.
Tears flowed freely before the race when 63,000 spectators, drivers, former drivers and Brock's family held a minute's silence for the man who won a record nine Bathurst races.
On the way to his second Bathurst victory, Lowndes had some luck go his way, with only 17 of the 31 starters finishing the 1000km race as crashes, mechanical failure and the heat took a costly toll on a warm spring day in NSW's dusty central west.
Race favourite and defending champion Mark Skaife was the first to go this year when he was shunted from behind on the opening lap.
"It's the most disappointing thing to ever happen in my career," said Skaife who desperately wanted to win for Brock.
Engine failure put second favourite Jason Bright's Ford in the garage soon after, while emergency crews took 20 minutes to cut Paul Radisich out through the roof of his Commodore.
Rick and Todd Kelly looked like claiming a win for Holden until Whincup snatched the lead on the 111th lap of the 161 lap race and Lowndes held Rick Kelly off by just over half a second to take the trophy.
Brock's protege not only broke Ford's seven-year Bathurst drought and made up for a freak accident that cruelled his chances while leading last year's race, he paid the biggest tribute he could to his idol.
