Eagles Given Heave-Ho

Freo Heave-Ho !

I Have two words to say to all you eagles supporters out there... SUCK SHIET. All of you fans were all like "we're going to flatten the dockers, etc" on Friday, Saturday, even Sunday before the derby started...Now it's Monday and you're all like "we were doing you a favour - we LET the dockers win" BULL SHIET. As if the Eagles would try to loose the "Best in the West" comp (Derby 24) in front of 43,527 people. Highly doubted. Suffer.

Fremantle's fairytale finish to the AFL season continued in unbelievable fashion when it trounced arch-rival and ladder-leader West Coast by a record-breaking 57 points at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.Spectacularly, the Dockers kicked 11 consecutive goals from time-on in the first quarter to the second-minute in the last - keeping the Eagles goalless for two quarters - to record a stirring 18.10 (118) to 8.13 (61) thrashing.

The 24th derby was being dubbed the most important clash in WA football history and the first quarter more than lived up to the hype with an energetic brand of football coming from both teams to ensure a tight affair early on.The match was gradually falling into the hands of the Eagles as the term wore on and they were rewarded with three superbly-worked goals to take an eight-point lead.

A late Des Headland goal stemmed the flow to cut West Coast's lead to two points at quarter-time and also swung the momentum towards the Dockers. The Dockers turned on the heat to score four classy goals while their stingy backline held West Coast to just five points in a relatively subdued second term.Mercurial forward Jeff Farmer - who finished with four goals - was again in fine touch and had a hand in three of those second-quarter majors.

The rot didn't stop there for the shell-shocked Eagles, as a relentless Freo outfit piled on six goals after the interval to increase the margin to a substantial 57 points at three-quarter time.
Dockers captain Peter Bell won the Ross Glendinning Medal for a best-on-ground performance.
